J.B. Hunt Transport recently added five Fuso eCanter electric medium box trucks to its Final Mile Services division.
The trucks are being added as a part of the companyโs effort to reduce its carbon footprint and will specifically service home deliveries in Santa Fe Springs, California, and in the greater Houston, Texas area.
โThe eCanter demonstrates that the future of electric trucks is very possible and is no longer a prototype but a real truck delivering real goods daily,โ said Justin Palmer, President, and CEO of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America.
The eCanter has a range of up to 80 miles and is best for inner-city deliveries, according to J.B. Hunt. Operating costs for the electric trucks can be as much as $2,000 lower for every 12,000 miles driven.
