Glasvan to Showcase Autocar E-ACTT Electric Shunt Truck at TruckWorld

New electric shunt truck meets future regulatory mandates for zero-emissions and efficiency

Join Glasvan Great Dane (www.glasvangreatdane.com)  at the 2022 Truck World Show from April 21st to the 23rd as the company presents the first of its kind emissions-free, all-electric version of its Autocar ACTT terminal tractor, the E-ACTT. The exhibit will offer guests the ability to explore the tractor and ask questions about its technology. The new Autocar all electric shunt truck leaps beyond current industry regulatory standards in fuel consumption reduction through a total transition from diesel power to zero-emission electric.  Visit Autocar and Glasvan in-person at booth # 2343

The Autocar E-ACTT boasts an electric powertrain with telemetry and diagnostic systems that are designed specifically for severe-duty application.  The E-ACTT truck is capable of handling the rigorous demands of semi-trailer yard spotting and container handling. Its leading-edge temperature-controlled lithium-ion battery fast system charges up to 90% in 2 hours with run-time options of up to 22 hours on a single full charge.

“Glasvan is excited to offer the Autocar E-ACTT terminal tractor to our customers. We are committed to meeting the growing demand for decarbonization in our industry, along with helping our customers address their business challenges by offering a solution that delivers cost savings and workload efficiency through innovative, safe and sustainable technology,” says George Cobham JR., VP Sales & Marketing with Glasvan Great Dane.

With advanced monitoring systems and telemetry, the E-ACTT terminal tractor can predict when maintenance is required and will improve a fleet’s productivity and efficiency by maximizing uptime. Operators can also experience a much quieter and lower vibration zero-emissions option, that is reliable and powerful enough to do the job.

“We are pleased to bring this EV terminal tractor to the Canadian market. The best part is that we are taking orders immediately for the E-ACTT,” said Autocar VP/General Manager for Vocational Vehicle Manufacturing Mark Aubry. “Production is ramping up and EV is a reality. Terminal tractors are the perfect application for electrification because a high majority of these don’t leave the property, making them an ideal transition into alternative fuel use.”

Designed specifically for spotting trailers and containers at distribution centres, warehouse docks, yards, industrial operations, intermodal/rail and port terminals, Autocar’s E-ACTT helps achieve higher efficiency and productivity through:

  • Custom-built design for vocational and site-specific needs
  • CCS-1 Compliant DC Fast Charging
  • Liquid Cooled Batteries
  • Up to 210 kWh modular battery packs
  • Up to 22 hours runtime on single charge
  • Cradle design for ease of maintenance
  • Auto shutdown
  • Cab preconditioning
  • Auto shift to neutral
  • Cab mounted charge status indicators
  • Advanced Telematics diagnostic reporting
  • Autocar Solutions, factory-direct service and technical support
