Apply for the CleanBC Heavy-duty Vehicle Efficiency Program

If you’re looking at adding equipment that will make your single truck, or fleet, more fuel efficient, green, profitable and safe, then it’s a good idea to contact the BC Trucking Association (BCTA) as they can assist in getting you some great incentives.

The CleanBC Heavy-duty Vehicle Efficiency Program Course is a joint venture between the BCTA and the BC Ministry of Transportation that will teach interested parties how to develop a Fuel Management Program for any size of fleet, incorporating measures to improve fuel economy based on what will work best for your operation. Whether it is implementing efficient driving techniques, a better vehicle maintenance program, installing aerodynamic devices, utilizing wide tires or reducing idling time, the strategies covered in this course provide many options for reducing what is often the number one operating cost for fleets.

There are some preset course dates but according to BCTA President Dave Earle, they can accommodate more dates if the demand is there. Most of the courses will be offered in Langley, but there are some dates set in Prince George as well.

The CleanBC Heavy-duty Vehicle Efficiency Program Course is a requirement for any company to apply for CleanBC Heavy-duty Vehicle Efficiency Program Incentives, which offer rebates on the purchase and installation of qualifying fuel-saving equipment. Incentives are available for up to $10,000 per vehicle or $100,000 per fleet. Both the course and the incentives are part of the CleanBC Heavy-duty Vehicle Efficiency Program, which is administered by BCTA.

To be eligible to participate in this CleanBC Heavy-duty Vehicle Efficiency Program, you must have one or more heavy-duty commercial vehicles in your fleet (a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight greater than 11,794 kg) that is licensed and insured to operate in British Columbia, conducts business in British Columbia, and has a terminal located in British Columbia.
