Trucking Industry Lose a Giant 

 

Bill McKinnon, former leader of McKinnon Transport passed away March 22, 

2019 at age 90.

MacKinnon Transport was founded on June 4th, 1929, by Bill’s father Alexander (Leslie) McKinnon when he bought a 1928 Chevrolet Straight Truck to haul livestock, coal, fertilizer and other farm supplies.  Bill MacKinnon earned his licence at 15 years old and bought a second truck to help grow the family business.  Recently MacKinnon was acquired by Contrans.  

MacKinnon won the Service to the Industry Award in 1980 and was a longtime proponent of the trucking industry.
