Truck convoy in Maine raises $12,000 for charity

A recent truck convoy in Maine generated more than $12,000 for Camp Sunshine and local D.A.R.E and officer-friendly programs.

On Sept. 25, more than 40 big rigs converged on Scarborough Downs to participate in the 2016 Convoy for Kids. The event, which is in its 27th year, is organized by the South Portland and Thornton Heights Lions Clubs with the assistance of the Maine Professional Drivers Association.

Money for Camp Sunshine and D.A.R.E. came through donations and pledges generated by drivers and companies.
