The OPP “Operation Safe Trucking” campaign starts Sunday. Did you know that truck crashes comprise only 8.8% of all crashes to date in 2019, but have resulted in 33.3% of all fatalities so far this year?
 The OPP will be on the lookout for truck drivers in a effort to reduce that incident number by seeking out all unsafe acts whether or not an incident is so caused. Â
Distracted driving is probably the biggie this week.  But they do have the wherewithal and means to test for drug and alcohol misuse. While drivers of personal vehicles have a .08 tolerance, truck drivers are permitted zero tolerance. Â
