RECRUITERS DON’T EXPECT DRIVER COMPENSATIONS TO INCREASE

 

Results from Driver iQ’s second-quarter recruiting and retention survey shows that with signs of a weakening freight environment and economy, most fleets are less likely to increase driver compensation or add capacity to combat turnover within the next few months.

Driver iQ surveyed fleet customers and potential clients representing the views of recruitment managers who operate over 75,000 trucks total.

Most recruiters expect no real change in trucker compensation or driver turnover. This is in direct contrast to trends from the last few years, where fleets were increasing driver pay and benefits to combat rising trucker shortage issues.

The number of companies offering sign-on bonuses also dropped to 56% percent from the 70% high it reached in 2019.
