The CVSA just released the dates for this year’s 72-hour Roadcheck inspection spree
It’s that time of the year again; the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA) 29th annual International Roadcheck is right around the corner.
This year, the 72-hour commercial vehicle inspection spree will take place from June 7th to June 9th.
The International Roadcheck is a joint effort between the CVSA, FMCSA, as well as Canadian and Mexican Transportation agencies.
During last years Roadcheck, 44,989 were North American Standard Level I Inspections took place in the 72-hour period. 21.6 percent of vehicles (9,732) inspected were placed out of service.
Each year, a special emphasis is placed on certain violations. During the 2015 Roadcheck, officers placed an extra emphasis on load securement.
The CVSA has not yet revealed the special emphasis for the 2016 Roadcheck.
According to the CVSA website, more than 1.4 million roadside inspections were performed since the program’s inception, saving an estimated 318 lives.
