Volvo Trucks is celebrating a century of innovation with the launch of a new Volvo 100 Year Edition, a special-edition truck that combines the company’s latest advances in safety, performance and energy efficiency with design elements inspired by Volvo’s history.
As a prelude to the company’s 2027 anniversary celebrations, Volvo is offering its flagship FH Aero, FH, FH16 Aero and FH16 models in the exclusive anniversary edition.
The launch follows a series of recent upgrades to Volvo’s electric, diesel and gas powertrains, with improvements designed to deliver greater performance, efficiency, range and power. The 100-Year Edition features distinctive upgrades both inside and outside the cab.
Premium Interior Designed for Driver Comfort
Inside the cab, Volvo has focused on creating a more comfortable and premium environment for drivers. The seats feature a new two-tone design, with premium leather on the seat base and an embroidered anniversary motif on the grey textile upper section.
Tan leather details, including the divider, complement matching striping incorporated into the truck’s exterior paintwork. Volvo Trucks Design Director Jonathan Disley says the anniversary model represents both the company’s history and its continued development.
“The 100-year edition truck is a celebration of what we have achieved so far over the past century, and a very special truck in more ways than one,” says Disley. “The interior is both modern and premium, as well as an homage to Volvo’s history.”
He adds that the design draws inspiration from Volvo’s Swedish heritage, as well as the professionalism, innovation and progress developed over decades of working alongside customers.
Illuminated Details Add a Unique Touch
The special-edition trucks also feature unique illuminated doorsteps and LED strips on the centre console, with drivers able to select either red or white ambient lighting.
A new welcome-light system projects the anniversary motif onto the ground outside the truck whenever the door is opened. The same anniversary design appears on the truck’s new 3D-printed speaker grilles.
The interior also pays tribute to Volvo’s history through its curtains, which feature a line-up of Volvo truck models from the past 100 years.
Adding to the premium feel is a thicker, more luxurious floor mat finished in a distinctive black-and-grey mélange design, complete with tan leather labels. According to Jan Hjelmgren, Head of Product Management at Volvo Trucks, the special edition reflects a century of continuous development.
“This special edition represents the peak of Volvo’s truck design and manufacture over the past century,” says Hjelmgren. “It is the result of 100 years’ worth of continual improvement in safety, quality, driver comfort, productivity, fuel efficiency and emissions saving.”
Latest Powertrain and Safety Technology
The Volvo 100 Year Edition will be available in most of the driveline and chassis configurations currently offered for the FH Aero, FH16 Aero, FH and FH16.
The Volvo FH range has recently undergone significant powertrain updates across its electric, gas and diesel models. These improvements are aimed at increasing performance, range, energy efficiency and power.
Safety also remains a major focus for Volvo. The FH has continued to perform strongly in Euro NCAP truck safety testing, with several configurations receiving top marks in their respective segments.
The 100-Year Edition is the latest in a series of special-edition Volvo trucks. Previous models have included the Volvo FH 25 Year Special Edition, Volvo FH Aero Euro NCAP Special Edition and Volvo Ocean Race Limited Edition.
The new Volvo 100 Year Edition will be available to order beginning in September 2026, giving customers an opportunity to own a truck that combines Volvo’s latest technology with a distinctive tribute to the company’s 100-year history.
