Truck Driver Goes Missing

California police are seeking help from the public to find 54-year-old truck driver, Satwant Singh Bains, who went missing on May 15, under what they call โ€˜mysterious conditions.โ€™

A Fresno County Sheriffโ€™s news release stated:

โ€œAround 5:00 am on May 15th, officers with the California Highway Patrol responded to Interstate 5 and Whitworth Road, which is just northwest of Los Banos. Officers received a report of a big rig truck pulling a refrigeration trailer idle on the freeway, partially blocking the northbound right lane.ย

โ€œOfficers discovered the truckโ€™s engine running and the doors were unlocked with no one inside. Officers found a cell phone and wallet inside the truck belonging to Satwant Bains. Officers checked the immediate area and could not find Bains. His truck and trailer were towed away to a storage area.ย

โ€œOfficers contacted Bainsโ€™ family and informed them of the situation. Due to Bains being a Fowler resident, his family filed a missing persons report later in the day with the Fresno County Sheriffโ€™s Office. Bains was reportedly hauling a load to Fairfield (northern California). Family members say it is out of character for Bains to vanish without telling anyone.โ€

Authorities have said that Bains is diabetic and may be in need of medication.

Bains is described as 5โ€™8โ€, weighs about 230 pounds with brown eyes, black hair, and a moustache and goatee. He also has a black cross tattoo on his right hand.

If you have any information about Bains, contact Fresno County Sheriffโ€™s Office at 559-600-3111 and reference case # 19-6289.
