Pennsylvania Rest Area at Grantville to Close For 18 Months
Transportation officials in Pennsylvania are preparing drivers for long term rest area closures that will go into effect next week.
On October 16, the northbound and southbound I-81 rest areas in Grantville will shut down for construction and are scheduled to reopen in the summer of 2021. During the closure, drivers will not be allowed to park on the rest area ramps or on the designated parking area.
The next available rest stop on I-81 for southbound drivers is in Cumberland County at mile marker 87 and the next available rest area for northbound drivers is in Luzerne County at mile marker 157.
