Ontario Transportation Minister Caroline Mulroney announced Tuesday a 102 km section of Highway 417, east of Ottawa from Anderson Road to the Quebec border, will be raised to 110 KmPH as a pilot project in preparation for becoming the standard on most 400 series highways. ย
The limit will also rise to 110 km/h on the following highways starting on Sept 26:
- Highway 402 from London to Sarnia (90 km).
- Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) from St. Catharines/Lincoln to Hamilton (32 km).
The province also wants to gather input from drivers on the speed limit increases using anย online surveyย set to end on Nov. 23.
There was no change to the limit electronic imposition on commercial trucks at 105. ย
