According to ACT Research, the orders for Class 8 trucks were above expectations in the month of August as the total net orders were 25,363 units and Classes 5 โ 7 also rose to 18,012, a four month high.
โThrough the middle of the third quarter, conditions remained favorable for continued healthy commercial vehicle demand,โ said Kenny Vieth, ACTโs president and senior analyst. โFollowing one of the best order months cycle-to-date, Augustโs Class 8 orders were 16% below July, but were up 30% compared to last year.ย Vieth also said in that Classes 5-7 year-over-year truck orders were up 15%.
