Traffic in and around the Milton Scales on both sides of the 401 should be congested considerably more than normal. Extra care and caution should be exercised.
Tuesday, September 20, Dump Truck operators from the Brampton area blockaded the scales in both directions at Milton on the 401 protesting the government’s new push for enforcement, especially axle weights.
The plan for Wednesday is to continue blocking the scales but also extend the protests to the quarries.
There have been protests such as this from the industry however the desired outcomes have never become reality, in fact, just the opposite of the goal has been achieved.
