On September 13, 2012, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Administrator Anne Ferro participated in a seven-member panel about the Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) program in front of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure’s Subcommittee on Highways and Transit. In her testimony, Administrator Ferro outlined CSA’s key components, which are the Safety Measurement System, the interventions process, and the Safety Fitness Determination rulemaking. Her written testimony is now available online at http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/about/news/testimony/tst-12-09-13.htm.
CSA is a robust national outreach program that collects and analyzes input from Congress, industry, safety advocates, and other stakeholders for its potential to further enhance effectiveness in identifying patterns of safety violations. Additional information about today’s Congressional hearing on CSA can be found on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure’s website (http://transportation.house.gov/hearings/hearingdetail.aspx?NewsID=1714).
