Following two days of rain through Oklahoma and Texas May 25-26, 2015, multiple roads, including major highways have been closed. All transportation in the affected areas was brought to a grinding halt.
The floods have caused nearly 30 casualties, and several people are still missing.
Austin and Houston were among the hardest-hit areas in Texas. More than 20 locations remained closed or severely compromised by high water in Houston as of Tuesday morning. Vehicles were abandoned throughout the city.
In some areas of Houston, waters were as high as 10 feet. The Houston Fire Department performed 131 water rescues during the overnight hours Monday and Tuesday.
