Early morning break down leads to death of 36 yrs old driver

 

A truck driver was struck and killed on Interstate 77 in Jackson County, West Virginia early Tuesday morning.

According to WSAZ, the truck driver, Charles Boyd, 36, parked his truck on the shoulder of the highway and was working on the truck’s engine when his truck was sideswiped by a passing truck.

The accident occurred at approximately 6:30 this morning in the southbound lanes of the highway, near the Goldtown exit.

Boyd died at the scene.

The driver of the truck that sideswiped Boyd’s truck told authorities that he must have “drifted off” before the crash.

Authorities are investigating the crash.
