Diesel Fuel Price Down Slightly

 

The average price for a gallon of diesel fuel across the U.S. dropped 1.5 cents, according to the weekly report issued for Monday, June 3, by the Energy Information Administration.

Last week the U.S. average dropped 1.2 cents from the previous Monday report. This is the third consecutive week the average U.S. price had decreased.

The U.S. average on June 3 was 14.9 cents lower than one year ago.

The Gulf Coast region had the lowest average price at $2.875 per gallon. California had the highest price, at $4.109 per gallon.

Following are the average prices for diesel fuel by region as reported by the EIA for Monday:

  • U.S. – $3.136, down 1.5 cents.
  • East Coast – $3.153, down 1.1 cents.
  • New England – $3.219, down three-fifths of a cent.
  • Central Atlantic – $3.344, down 1.6 cents.
  • Lower Atlantic – $3.011, down nine-tenths of a cent.
  • Midwest – $3.026, down 1.2 cents.
  • Gulf Coast – $2.875, down 1.8 cents.
  • Rocky Mountain – $3.163, down 1.8 cents.
  • West Coast – $3.76, down 2.2 cents.
  • West Coast without California – $3.32, down 1.8 cents.
  • California – $4.109, down 2.5 cents.
