Celadon Closes NC Terminal

Celadon Closes NC Terminal

Celadon Trucking announced that it will be closing down a terminal in Nash County, North Carolina and laying off 127 employees.

The job cuts will mainly affect truck drivers and warehouse workers.
This announcement comes after last weekโ€™s news of reported financial irregularities and a $12 million quarterly loss and the resignation of Chief Operating Officer Eric Meek.

In a notice filed with the state, corporate attorney Dennis Elschide wrote โ€œCeladon will cease operations at the facility on June 30, 2017.โ€ Employees were to be issued 60-day separation notices by May 1, he included.

In spite of the recent news, Celadon stock was up 30% on Monday.
