Friday, (March 29), U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Elaine L. Chao, will give the keynote address at the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) in Louisville, KY.
A recent statement from MATS stated that Chao will provide an update on the DOT’s efforts on safety, infrastructure, truck parking, and reducing trucking regulations. She will be joined by the FMCSA Administrator Raymond R. Martinez.
Elaine Chao served as the Secretary of Labor from 2001 to January 2009 and began her executive career in public service addressing transportation issues at the White House. She then served as Deputy Maritime Administrator in the Department of the Transportation; Chairman of the Federal Maritime Commission; and, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Transportation.
The Mid-America Trucking Show opens today at the Kentucky Expo Center and runs through Saturday. Elaine Chao is scheduled to speak at 1 PM in conference room B-101.
