Diesel prices on average continued to go down across the U.S., though that downward slide was tempered by rising prices on the West Coast and California, according to the Energy Information Administration.
The U.S. average went down just one-tenth of a cent, according to the EIA. The largest decrease was in the Lower Atlantic region, where diesel prices per gallon dropped 3.6 cents to $2.404.
That is balanced by the 2.9 cent rise in West Coast states.
Following are the average prices by region as reported by the EIA:
• U.S. – $2.559, down one-tenth of a cent
• East Coast – $2.509, down 2.5 cents
• New England – $2.554, down 1.1 cents
• Central Atlantic – $2.63, down 1.7 cents
• Lower Atlantic – $2.404, down 3.6 cents
• Midwest – $2.439, up 1.1 cents
• Gulf Coast – $2.274, down four-tenths of a cent
• Rocky Mountain – $2.423, down 1.4 cents
• West Coast – $3.17, up 2.97 cents
• West Coast less California – $3.17, up 2.9 cents
• California – $3.3927, up 3.67 cents
