Prime orders 900 Peterbilts

Prime Inc. โ€“ one of North Americaโ€™s largest carriers with refrigerated, flatbed, tanker and intermodal divisions โ€“ ordered 900 Peterbilt Model 579s equipped with PACCAR MX-13 engines. Peterbilt Motors Company announced the purchase which will put the trucks in operation with Primeโ€™s affiliate, Success Leasing.

โ€œPeterbilt is a great business partner with a long history of providing Prime with vehicle and support solutions that help us build on our reputation as the industryโ€™s most reliable and competitive carrier,โ€ said Darrel Hopkins, Director of Leasing for Prime. โ€œWe believe the Model 579 will help us attract and retain drivers, as well as provide outstanding fuel efficiency and uptime.โ€

Prime was founded in 1970 and is headquartered in Springfield, Mo. The trucks were purchased through The Larson Group, also based in Springfield.

โ€œPrime is a valued customer of The Larson Group and their commitment to bringing its customers higher levels of value mirrors our own,โ€ said Glenn Larson, President of The Larson Group, which owns 14 Peterbilt truck dealerships. โ€œWe are proud to have them as a customer and serve their truck sales and aftermarket needs.โ€

Prime has been operating Peterbilts for more than 10 years. The 900 just purchased will be equipped with Peterbiltโ€™s premium 80-inch sleepers and the fuel efficient PACCAR MX-13 engine.

โ€œPeterbilt and Prime are two of the most recognizable names in trucking, both synonymous with quality, reliability and value,โ€ said Darrin Siver, Peterbilt General Manager and PACCAR Vice President. โ€œThe Model 579 is the most fuel efficient, innovative vehicle in Peterbiltโ€™s history and Primeโ€™s commitment to this model further elevates it as the truck of choice for quality, performance and value, not to mention operator satisfaction.โ€
