XYpper, a virtual dispatch system, provides seamless freight finding and processing
As the result of an antiquated load board system, 28 percent of all trucks in the U.S. run empty each year, representing billions of dollars in lost freight revenues and wasted fuel. More than 1,500 truckers across North America have ditched outdated, fragmented and expensive load boards for XYpper, a revolutionary trucking app that has brought freight finding and processing into the 21st Century. XYpper, a virtual dispatch system (VDS), sends load offers for all available freights while truckers are en route, then prepares all the documents needed for the driver to execute the load, minimizing anxiety, downtime and lost revenue.
XYpper assists independent owner operators (IOOs) in the trucking industry through an app- and web-based VDS in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The XYpper app allows IOOs to harness the power of web and mobile technology to seamlessly connect with freight brokers, greatly improving efficiencies and increasing profit for both the truckers and brokers. XYpper works similarly to other “sharing economy” apps, by directly connecting individuals who have a need with someone who can perform a service – in XYpper’s case, connecting truckers who are in a particular geographical area or on their way, with freight brokers or shippers in the area who have loads that need to be delivered.
Brokers post their load information online though a web-based portal, and truckers are alerted via the app in real time. Since launching in late 2016, XYpper has become even more convenient and has given IOOs greater ability to take control of their business. Every order shows the load’s rate per mile and equipment type, and orders are sorted according to the driver’s profile, so drivers get the best possible matches for their truck. In its first two years, the app’s user base has grown to more than 1,500 truckers and 4,500 shippers/freight brokers. At any given time of year, more than 250,000 available loads are live on the app and are updated constantly. As soon as a load is given out or past due, it is immediately removed from the system, so truckers can be assured the loads and information are current and available.
Other benefits provided by the system include effortless, automated document generation for truckers and brokers through a virtual dispatcher, including order confirmation, bills of lading and proof of delivery, so neither party has to create the necessary paperwork for their transaction, a process that can be cumbersome for someone who lives and works on the road. The app provides seamless load tracking and uses the smartphone as a signing device. The seamless integration of processes and documentation allows truckers to be paid much more quickly. In addition, like numerous web-based sites and apps, the app features a one- to five-star performance rating system for truckers, brokers and shippers, which can be helpful for all parties as they decide with whom they would like to work.
“If you are an Independent Owner Operator, you can’t afford to not use this system, which is like having your own dispatcher at your fingertips for less than a dollar a day. Our goal is to help truckers leverage technology to clear away the complexity and lack of efficiency of an outdated load-sourcing system. We want to make your job easier so you can run your business,” said Valerio Lanzieri, president of XYpper.
Alliances with strategic partners were instrumental in identifying the needed features of the app and to promote the app through their extensive trucking industry network. Partners include associations like REAL Women in Trucking (RWIT) who advocate for industry improvements. “Our alliances are extremely important to us, as we want to be part of a community that seeks to help those in need,” said Lanzieri.
XYpper is available for download in the Apple App Store and for Android devices on Google Play. Truckers can test the service on a free 15-day trial and subscribe for $25 per month, cancellable at any time. More information is available at www.xypper.com, or visit XYpper on YouTube.
