UPS driver saves sleeping family

The quick actions of a UPS semi driver last month likely saved the lives of a woman and her two children, as well as their pets and their home.

Trucker Sheldon Bonnell was driving through Ririe, Idaho, during the early morning hours when he saw flames in the dark. When he pulled off to investigate, he discovered a detached garage engulfed in flames. The fire was spreading to nearby trees and threatening to jump to the house, where Michelle Evans and her two sons were fast asleep.
Bonnell quickly took action to wake the family, allowing them to escape. He also led the family dogs to safety while carrying their pet lamb in his arms.

While the Evans’ garage was a complete loss, Bonnell’s selfless act assured the family got to safety and the fire department arrived in time to save the house.
