Peterbilt Motors Company presented the first production Model 567 Heritage – a new version of their iconic Peterbilt model with exclusive interior and exterior styling features – to Hinz Trucking, who drove it off the assembly line at Peterbilt’s Denton, Texas manufacturing facility.
Badged with Heritage logos on the grille and sleeper engraved with “No. 001,” the truck is the first of 20 Heritage trucks ordered for 2016 production by Hinz Trucking who said they will be used as reward trucks for its owner-operators through the company’s lease-purchase program. The company expects to order more next year.
“The Model 567 Heritage is a great fit for Hinz Trucking’s image as a premium carrier,” said Hinz Trucking COO Rod Hinz, who drove the truck off the line. “We take pride in our fleet and the Heritage will be a prized truck for our owner-operators, as well as giving us a strong edge in recruiting and retaining the best drivers.”
Hinz Trucking, headquartered in Elm Creek, Neb. And founded in 1985, operates a 110-truck fleet specializing in flatbed hauls throughout the 48 contiguous states and Canada.

The Heritage presented to Hinz Trucking is equipped with a PACCAR MX-13 engine and 80-inch sleeper.
Model 567 Heritage Features
The Model 567 Heritage is configured with a 121-inch BBC and set-forward front axle (SFFA) – the industry’s most modern SFFA truck – to optimize payloads and weight distribution. It can be spec’d as a day cab or with a 72- or 80-inch sleeper.
Exterior features of the Model 567 Heritage include:
· Bright bumper, grille bars, exhaust stacks, mirrors and sunvisor;
· Chromed air intake bezel and metal hood latches;
· Polished rocker panels, quarter-fender closeout panels, fender brace and brackets, battery boxes and fuel tanks; and
· Special Heritage badging, uniquely numbered and mounted to the grille and sleeper (when applicable) for the first production trucks.
Inside the cab, the Model 567 Heritage has exclusive features and branding that includes:
· Platinum-level Heritage Brown interior with a black dash top and wood-finish trim;
· Premium brown leather seats with accent stitching to complement the cab design and embroidered Heritage logo in the headrest; and
· Door pads with brown wood trim.
For Model 567 Heritage trucks equipped with a sleeper, wood trim accents continue on the sleeper cabinets and storage compartments. The two-tone sleeper back wall is embroidered with the Heritage logo.
Peterbilt Model 567 SFFA
Peterbilt’s Model 567 SFFA lets customers maximize payloads while helping meet state and federal bridge law requirements with a chassis that optimizes weight distribution. It is the industry’s newest heavy-duty vocational truck and features modern, distinctive styling.
“A main reason we selected the Peterbilt Model 567 SFFA is it’s the newest, most up-to-date set-forward front axle available,” said Hammond. “It has the advanced features to enhance our operations and I’m sure it will be a favorite with our drivers.”
It is available in both 115- and 121-inch BBC lengths. The 115-inch BBC has a bumper to front axle distance of 29 inches and the 121-inch BBC has a bumper to front axle distance of 31 inches. Peterbilt also offers the Model 567 in a set-back front axle configuration, also available in a 115- or 121-inch BBC length.
