Paccar Parts opens new Distribution Centre

To the applause of more than 500 attendees, including company CEO Ron Armstrong, general operations manager Tom Floyd and general manager David Danforth Paccar Parts opened its new $32-million, 160,000-square-foot distribution centre in Renton, Washington

“The historic event was a success and would not have been possible without the hard work and passion of those involved with the planning and execution,” said Danforth, who is also vice-president of Paccar. “Being able to share such a monumental achievement as a division is what made the occasion so special.”

The facility became operational in April of this year and serves 91 dealerships in Western Canada and Northwestern US. It is also one of 17 Paccar Distribution Centres worldwide with the capacity to store 38,000 different aftermath parts for all makes of trucks, trailers and buses.

Paccar says the Renton location incorporates productivity-inspired design, distribution technology, such as hydraulic lift tables, and environmental sustainability.

“Looking forward, the $32 million operations investment in the new Renton facility will continue to positively impact our dealers and customers,” said Paccar Parts assistant general manager of operations Laura Bloch. “With a shipping accuracy of 99.98% and a regional order fulfillment rate for stocking items of 96%, the Renton PDC will continue to provide quality parts and service that is unmatched in the industry.”
