PACCAR New DC

Paccar Parts new 160,000 square-foot, $32 million distribution facility, servicing dealers in Western Canada and North-western US, is now fully operational.

“By investing in the latest technology and more than doubling the square footage, we are demonstrating our commitment to being a world-class leader in aftermarket parts distribution,” said David Danforth, Paccar parts general manager and Paccar vice-president. “We take pride in upholding our core values of providing customers with the highest product availability, quality service and unmatched value in the industry.”

Nearly three times the size of its predecessor, the Renton, Wash. facility has a 15,000 square-foot small parts mezzanine and state-of-the-art equipment, like stock-picking equipment with built-in weigh scales. It also provides a 125% increase in capacity for parts, with over 39,000 various parts at hand.

“We designed every aspect of the PDC to create a logical efficient work flow,” said Laura Bloch, Paccar parts assistant general manager – operations. “From the ‘pick path’ to the unique stocking fixtures, efficiency and accuracy measures have been taken at every point to streamline customer orders and ensure quick turnaround times.”

The facility also has a 50-person training room, energy efficient systems and an interactive Paccar Parts Experience, which demonstrates the company’s distribution network.
