Owner-ops Working For NB to Require Safety Training

Independent truckers contracted to the Government of New Brunswick will be required to take certain safety courses in order to be eligible to work on provincial highway projects after April 1.

Truck operators working on provincial highway projects and contracts will require basic training on: Occupational Health and Safety Orientation, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System training and Work Area Traffic Control Manual Awareness Training.

Contractors will have to confirm the operators have taken the required training as well as perform a daily pre-trip inspection of their truck.
