With nearly 40 wrecks a year at rail crossings between commercial trucks and trains, the Minister’s announcement of $3.6 million over two years, specifically earmarked for Operation Lifesaver, to promote ways and means to promote rail crossing safety, it is a large step.
Hopefully, programs will be put in place to reduce that 40 wreck number to zero. Safety managers may contact Operation Lifesaver for materials to remind truckers of the dangers, how to prevent collisions between commercial trucks and trains.
