Establishment of Courier Loading Zones in Toronto

As part of the ongoing dialog with Toronto city officials, with respect to the inauguration of a modern delivery policy, the city is now in the process of establishing courier loading zones for commercial carriers, OTA continues to advise the City to revisit its implementation of a zero tolerance-towing policy, but in the meantime is working with the mayor’s office on a comprehensive plan to deal with commercial vehicle operation and delivery in the downtown core.

All delivery vehicles, regardless of size and weight, may use the identified courier loading zones as long as they are making a delivery. For the time being, only “short stop deliveries” will be permitted, with a maximum stop time of about 20 minutes.
OTA will continue to update its members regarding the issues surrounding the development of these zones and other matters related to city of Toronto delivery and commercial vehicle policies.
