DTNA to open new parts distribution Center
Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), through its associated brands Freightliner, Western Star, Detroit, Thomas Built Buses, Freightliner Custom Chassis and Alliance Truck Parts, announced the opening of a new parts distribution center (PDC) in Dallas, TX.
โThis new facility is a major step in a multifaceted plan to improve parts availability and meet customer expectations of uptime,โ according to the company. โThe 275,000-sq.-ft. facility is a critical strategic component that will allow customers to receive stock and mission critical parts in record time.โ
โWe are excited about this new PDC, which is much more than just a building. Itโs part of our strategy to get closer to our customers,โ said Jay Johnson, general manager of supply chain. โDTNA is focused on continuous improvement and innovation.โ
โThe new Dallas PDC and supporting supply chain initiatives have dramatically improved our ability to service our customers. The speed with which we receive parts has improved front counter customer satisfaction due to improved fill rates. Technician morale and efficiency has improved, as well,โ said Dan Stevens, chief operations officer and partner of Lonestar Truck Group.
According to the company, this new PDC is part of a significant investment in the DTNA supply chain. All PDC locations are a part of a network of services available to all customers of DTNA brands including Freightliner, Western Star, Detroit, Thomas Built Buses, Freightliner Custom Chassis and Alliance Truck Parts.
โWith the addition of the Dallas PDC, our lead-time on parts has been reduced by two days. This reduction will help us improve customer uptime as we continue to increase our dealership throughput,โ said Rich Shearing, president of Premier Truck Group.
