The Colorado Department of Transportation announced plans to create a connected transportation program starting with Interstate 70. CDOT is partnering with Panasonic as part of its RoadX program to turn I-70 into a smart corridor.
The system will use cellular, radio and roadway sensor data to allow vehicles to communicate with each other and infrastructure, sharing data about accidents, traffic and other roadway hazards.
