The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has issued a warning to drivers who have been leaving behind bags and bottles of human waste alongside the freeway.
On Monday, September 2, the CHPโs Donner Pass Division said via Facebook post:
โWe are having a major problem with trucks parking on the freeway and leaving behind absolutely disgusting items of trash. Yes, that bottle is full of urine and yes the bags are full of solid human waste. WE ARE CITING drivers for 21718 VC (non-emergency stop on the freeway) and littering.โ
The post has since gone viral, with many people within the trucking community showing support for CHP in their effort to keep drivers accountable for their littering.
Other people pointed to industry issues such as HOS as reasons that drivers could be forced to find bathroom alternatives.
