The BVD Group announced a transformational $10 million donation towards William Osler Health Systems.
The BVD Group donated 10 million dollars to a cause close to the hearts of the community — The William Osler Health Systems. Operating three major hospitals in the Greater Toronto Area, William Osler Health Systems is uniquely positioned to make a massive impact on the community, something BVD Group CEO Bikram Dhillon aims to do with this generous donation.
The BVD Group’s donation is in support of the Foundation’s greatest areas of need to transform health care in Etobicoke and Brampton.
As Osler grows to meet the increasing demand in one of the fastest growing and most diverse regions in Canada, funds will support Osler hospitals’ greatest needs and strengthen health care in Brampton and Etobicoke for years to come.
“The BVD Group is so proud to give back and support our community,” says Bikram Dhillon, CEO, BVD Group. “The William Osler Foundation has a long history of giving back, and we wanted to show our commitment to making a difference, too.”
Dhillon has worked closely with the William Osler Foundation in the past and has supported their efforts in events. In March 2020, BVD Group donated $100,000 to the Health Care Heroes campaign, providing critical funds for Osler’s pandemic response and, most recently, the company stepped forward as presenting sponsor of Osler Foundation’s Holi Gala in support of Osler’s pandemic recovery.
The event, which took place on June 28, 2022, featured the Dhillon family, Hon. Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario and MPP, Etobicoke North; Hon. Sylvia Jones, Deputy Premier, Minister of Health and MPP, Dufferin-Caledon; Ken Mayhew, President & CEO, William Osler Health System Foundation; Dr. Frank Martino, Interim President & CEO, William Osler Health System; Hon. Prabmeet Sarkaria, President of the Treasury Board; MPP, Brampton South; Patrick Brown, Mayor of Brampton; and Hon. Charmaine Williams, Associate Minister of Women’s Social and Economic Opportunity.
“The generosity shown by BVD Group will enable our dedicated staff and physicians to continue to deliver compassionate, exemplary care to more patients in expanded, modern facilities close to home,” said Ken Mayhew, President and CEO, Osler Foundation. “It will allow us to further enhance the world-class programs and services we proudly deliver across Osler.”
The BVD Group began as a single gas station, founded by Bikram Dhillon, in 1999. It expanded its operation to the rest of Canada and the United States and now has ventures in petroleum, capital, equipment finance, truck sales and real estate.
