The average cost for a gallon of diesel fuel nationwide on Monday for the most part stayed the same compared to the previous week, according to the Energy Information Administration.
On Monday, July 16, the EIA reported the U.S. average price per gallon of diesel cost $3.239, less than a half cent than the week before. In three regions, the average price did not change from last week.
The price is 74.82 cents higher than a year ago.
Following are the average prices by region as reported by the EIA for Monday:
- U.S. – $3.239, down two-fifths of a cent
- East Coast – $3.236, down one-fifth of a cent
- New England – $3.283, up two-fifths of a cent
- Central Atlantic – $3.405, no change
- Midwest – $3.171, down a half cent
- Gulf Coast – $3.004, no change
- Rocky Mountain – $3.37, no change
- West Coast – $3.741, down four-fifths of a cent
- West Coast less California – $3.456, down 1.5 cents
- California – $3.968 , down one-fifth of a cent
