A group of protesters forced Interstate 95 in Richmond, Va., to be shut down during rush-hour traffic on Monday, July 18. Thirteen people were arrested in the incident, The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported.
Protesters reportedly took to the southbound lanes at 5:45 p.m. near mile marker 76. According to the Times-Dispatch, the protest included about 30 people from the Black Lives Matter movement.
Police arrived on the scene about 6:20 p.m. Thirteen people were arrested for being pedestrians on a highway and for impeding the flow of traffic.
