The 2016 Mid-America Trucking Show opened today. The largest heavy-duty trucking industry event in the world attracts approximately 70,000 attendees each year with more than 1,000 exhibitors, the PKY Truck Beauty Championship, educational seminars, a free concert and much more.
This yearโs seminars include a session on Jasonโs Law and the effort to create more safe parking for truck drivers; the FMCSAโs new Unified Registration System; electronic logging devices; and multiple sessions regarding equipment specifications. There is also a panel discussion on the new PC-11 engine oil category. The annual Fleet Forum for fleet executives features a look at the current economy, connected truck innovations and personal advice from the top fleet innovators in the country.
Country Music Singer Craig Morgan is headlining a free concert Friday evening. Attendees will have the chance to visit with several industry celebrities, including Alex Debogorski, โthe Original Ice Road Truckerโ; celebrity polisher Evan Steger; Champ Truck driver Mike Morgan; Marc Springer from A&Eโs โShipping Warsโ; Edgar Hansen from โDeadliest Catchโ; country music artist Terri Clark; Lisa Kelly from โIce Road Truckersโ; and Freddy Dodge from โGold Rush.โ
The exhibit hall is also the site to register for numerous giveaways for everything from iPads to commercial truck tires.
