Wreck at Puslinch Closes the 401 for most of Saturday

Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police, Highway Safety Division, Cambridge Detachment are investigating a collision which occurred on Highway 401, in Puslinch Township, Ontario, on Saturday, April 30th, 2016 at approximately 5:42 a.m.

The collision involved two tractor trailers in the west bound lanes of the 401 Between Guelph Line and Brock Road. The lead truck and trailer were in the right hand lane when the second truck and trailer struck the lead trailer from behind causing extensive damage to the second tractor. The two occupants of the second truck were extricated by emergency personnel and airlifted to hospital in serious but not life-threatening condition. The two occupants of the lead truck remained at the scene and were not injured.

The driver of the second truck, Jacques Vaillancourt, 65 from St Ignace De Stanbridge, QC has now been charged with one count of Careless Driving.
