Firefighters pulled Cristina Coleman from her overturned vehicle on the morning of Tuesday, July 12, 2016, but they may never have known she was there if it hadn’t been for an unnamed truck driver who took a moment out of his day to investigate when something looked off.
The trucker, traveling on U.S. 190 in Louisiana, spotted the wheels of Coleman’s pickup sticking out of the water below a bridge near the town of Robert. Instead of continuing on his way, the driver pulled to the side of the road to investigate. Little did he know he would find Coleman inside, submerged up to her neck, where she had been for close to five hours since losing control on the road above.
The driver contacted authorities and stayed with the victim until she was freed from the wreckage.
