TCA makes Senior Changes
The Truckload Carriers Association announced two changes in its workforce—the hiring of James J. Schoonover as the vice president of education and operations and the promotion of Marli Hall to senior director of outreach and engagement.
Schoonover will be joining the team on Monday, July 17. In this new leadership role, he will be responsible for overseeing the continued development of TCA’s education initiatives and for managing the operations of TCA’s Alexandria office.
Schoonover served in the United States Army Reserve for six years, followed by eight years in education services at Osborn Park High School in Manassas, VA, before joining the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA). Schoonover began his 19-year career with NADA as specialist for NADA/ATD Academy, and over the course of his successful tenure, rose to a leadership position in NADA’s education efforts as the Senior Director of Education and Consulting Development in NADA’s Dealership Operations.
“Jim brings with him a tremendous amount of resources with the experience and knowledge in building robust, relevant, and impactful education. I am very fortunate to have worked with Jim during my years at NADA. His proven leadership will be a vital addition to TCA,” said TCA president John Lyboldt.
Hall has been promoted from outreach and engagement manager to senior director of outreach and engagement effective immediately. Hall joined TCA in 2013 as a development coordinator after holding multiple positions in the journalism field.
Under Schoonover’s direction, Hall will work collaboratively to integrate TCA’s AMS and CMS, as well as develop and implement membership and public affairs initiatives that will broaden awareness of the association. She will oversee TCA’s membership department and act as the staff liaison for TCA’s communications and image policy committee and scholarship fund program.
“Marli’s proven track record, member-centric passion, and her work ethic will be major contributing factors in the bright future of TCA,” said Lyboldt. “She’s delightful to work with.”
