Snow Storm Brings Travel Restrictions

A major storm of the is set to hit the northeast March 13 and March 14, creating the biggest snowfall of the winter.

According to the National Weather Service, a nor’easter formed off the East coast and will hit the Northeast hard on Tuesday. A blizzard warning for New York City and parts of northern New Jersey and southern Connecticut has been issued and may affect more than 19 million people.

The heaviest snow is expected in the early and late afternoon Tuesday. Some areas could get up to two feet of snow, with Boston and New York expected to get the most. Philadelphia and Baltimore are also expected to get large amounts of snow.
The Midwest was hit with snow over the weekend, which caused over 750 flights to be cancelled Monday, March 13. Many more flights are expected to be cancelled Tuesday.

“Anybody looking to travel on Tuesday, whether by land or air, will find it difficult or impossible in many places,” AccuWeather senior meteorologist Tom Kines warned.

Pennsylvania issued a travel ban east of and including I-99 for commercial vehicles.
