The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) has recently been approached by Transport Canada with regards to the air cargo supply chain. More specifically, the government is interested in better understanding how the ground component of the air cargo supply chain operates going through either Pearson or Hamilton airports.
Their hope is to identify issues pertaining to all road freight and air/road freight and how these two affect each other. Topics in this might include things like – how does security measures for air cargo affect trucking companies, do hours of service requirements impart air cargo, how does border work for freight work with respect to trucking.
Transport Canada has requested in meeting in Toronto on February 2, 2014 from 10 am – 12 pm to discuss these matters on an informal basis. The meeting will be held at 555 Dixon Road.
