Man Indicted for Making False Statements on a Commercial Driver Employment Application

According to a press release from the Office of the Inspector General, on September 2, 2014, a North Carolina man was indicted by a U.S. District Court in Raleigh, North Carolina for making case statements on a commercial driver employment application.

On March 29, 2013, truck driver Arnold Williams applied for employment as a truck driver at MTR Inc., and he was later hired.

The FMCSA requires drivers to list all prior accidents, however, Williams allegedly listed no previous wrecks on his employment application to MTR.

The Office of the Inspector General reports that in January 2013, Williams was charged with homicide and possessing an open alcohol beverage container, following a truck wreck that resulted in a fatality and three injuries.

In April 2013, a Georgia Sate Police officer pulled over Williams’ truck and charged him with driving while under the influence of alcohol.
