Tropical Storm Imelda hit last week, over 200 vehicles became trapped on I-10, one of them belonging to Reggie McCoy, truck driver hauling food.
Stranded on I-10 for more than 36 hours, McCoy asked his boss if he could share the food in his trailer.
โHe was like, โHey, whatever anybody needs. Letโs get it off the truck.โ Weโve got water. Weโve got milk, toilet paper,โ said McCoy.
Then he met another stranded driver, Kenny the cook. McCoy had chicken, so they got a grill and Kenny was able to prepare the food for other drivers right on I-10.
โWe had chicken wings last night and a few grape tomatoes and chips and milk,โ said McCoy.
Kenny the cook was more than happy to assist with the dinner-time prep.
โIn 2005, Houston took me in from Katrina, so, Iโm just giving back, thatโs all,โ said Kenny.
McCoy said they were able to feed between 30 and 40 people.
