FMCSA Updates ELD section of Webpage

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has simplified the electronic logging device section of the agency’s website to create a more user-friendly system and highlight critical ELD information.

New questions and answers have been added to the Frequently Asked Questions section addressing matters such as vehicles with a manufacturer year 2000 that are equipped with older engine components and how the ELD rule applies to the agriculture exemption.

On the new Resources page, visitors can access fact sheets, brochures and more in both English and Spanish languages.

The new website for ELD manufacturers allows the company to test their ELD output files with the new ELD file validator and access technical specification questions and answers.

Although there is a bill before Congress to delay the implementation of the ELD mandate two years, FMCSA is still moving forward with the expectation that it will go into effect Dec. 18.
