Fake Cop in North Carolina

Police are warning drivers in North Carolina that an unknown suspect is posing as a Highway Patrol trooper and pulling people over in Onslow County.

The suspect, who has stopped at least two drivers in the Sneads Ferry area, is described as a tall white male in his late 20s or early 30s driving a dark-colored Dodge Charger. The vehicle has a large antennae on top and flashing lights on the grill.

So far, the suspect has stopped only women, but law enforcement urge all drivers to be extra cautious and to contact 911 if any unmarked car or otherwise suspicious vehicle attempts to stop them. Anyone with information is asked to call the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office at 910-455-3113 or Crime Stoppers at 910-938-3273.
