Decisiv Contract Renewed by Mack, Volvo

Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks North America announced they have renewed their contracts with Decisiv, provider of the ASIST service relationship management tool. Decisiv is a web-based tool that enables real-time communication between customers, dealers and the companies’ field and Uptime Centers during repair events.

According to Mack, ASIST is also a key part of the closed loop communication process around high-severity faults identified by Mack GuardDog Connect. “ASIST allows us to provide valuable information to decision makers in real time, helping to expedite repairs and maximize uptime,” said David Pardue, Mack vice president of connected vehicle & uptime services. “Extending our partnership with Decisiv will enable us to continue delivering the uptime solutions our customers depend on.”

Mack’s partnership with Decisiv spans more than a decade, the company said. By providing real-time access to Mack for warranty, recalls, service bulletins, and build information, as well as third-party systems, Mack said ASIST helps customers make informed decisions to maximize uptime.

“Communication is critical to the uptime equation because it allows customers to make the best decision for their business,” said Dick Hyatt, president and CEO of Decisiv. “We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Mack and helping customers improve the financial return on their truck assets.”

Mack said its approach to uptime begins with Mack GuardDog Connect, a diagnostic and repair planning system that monitors fault codes that could potentially shut down a truck or lead to an unplanned visit to the dealer. According to the company, Mack ASIST consolidates communication through the process, allowing all parties to remain informed on the status of their vehicle before, during and after a service event.

According to Conal Deedy, director of connected vehicle services for Volvo Trucks, parent company of Mack: “The ASIST tool seamlessly integrates with our Remote Diagnostics telematics platform to quickly and effectively communicate information to our customers and dealers concerning monitored service events.”

Volvo and Decisiv have collaborated on ASIST for more than 10 years. The first iteration came in the form of an estimating tool for dealers, but since then, ASIST has progressed to become an essential component of Volvo’s uptime service offerings, the company said.

“Working with Volvo, ASIST has evolved into a powerful communications platform that connects all concerned parties in the service network to deliver on Volvo’s uptime promise,” said Dick Hyatt, president and CEO of Decisiv. “ASIST helps customers make quick decisions by providing real-time information, helping to keep their trucks on the road, rather than in the shop.”
