The Canadian Owner Operators Co-operative has been tasked to do a safety program to bring “the dangers of rail crossing” to truck drivers.
Since there are approximately 40 wrecks each year between commercial vehicles and trains across the country, the Co-op is distributing a “hints” brochure across the country.
It’s fairly easy to acquire the large carriers information and send the required number of brochures to those carriers, it is those small, often overlooked, smaller carriers that create the challenge.
