The California Air Resources Board has published a series of frequently asked questions and answers for transport refrigeration unit (APU) generator sets regarding compliance with the TRU regulation requirements for brokers, shippers, receivers, carriers, and drivers at California port terminals and depots.
TRU gensets are generator sets that are designed and used to provide electric power to electrically driven refrigeration units of any kind. This includes, but is not limited to, gen sets that provide electricity to electrically powered refrigeration systems for semi-trailer vans and shipping containers.
