The average price for a gallon of diesel fuel across the U.S. is up a penny from a week ago, according to the federal Energy Information Administration.
According to the EIA’s Monday, March 25, report, the price is 7 cents higher than a year ago.
The largest increase for the week was in California, where the per-gallon price went up 3.8 cents. The price in Rocky Mountain states went up 3 cents.
Following are the average prices by region as reported by the EIA for Monday:
•U.S. – $3.08, up 1 cent.
•East Coast – $3.132, up four-fifths of a cent.
•New England – $3.214, up 1.4 cents.
•Central Atlantic – $3.31, down three-tenths of a cent.
•Lower Atlantic – $2.995, up 1.4 cents.
•Midwest – $2.993, up one-tenth of a cent.
•Gulf Coast – $2.876, up seven-tenths of a cent.
•Rocky Mountain – $2.974, up 3 cents.
•West Coast – $3.526, up 2.9 cents.
•West Coast without California – $3.156, up 1.7 cents.
•California – $3.819, up 3.8 cents.
